Yep. Sat in the mess hall of the USS Tuscaloosa (WWII LST) running from Okinawa to Subic Bay ahead of a typhoon and watched the milk in my glass moving from side to side with the roll of the ship.
Hallo Wolfgang, tolle Videos.
Edi
I'll tell you what, I'd lose a hell of a lot of weight from this.
I used to lay there and listen to my locker doors open and close during gales. It was just something different from the same routine.
Cool
I honestly wouldn’t mind doing this someday
Go ahead, nothing can stop you, only you yourself.
Centerline lower in the ship would be way more comfortable. But who would want to give up that window view in good weather ?
8:00 "After the storm" Waves are >4m high ... Guys working on deck!
who needs a hammock anyways?
Damn, even when impervious to rolling back and forth, how can someone go to sleep when everything is creaking and rattling around like that.
After a while you get used to it.
Glad I'm not there and you should be too....unless you like watching vomit slosh back and forth on the floor.
So hard life
Not really, we enjoyed it.
Your wife seems like a very funny and joyous person. It must make such trips a little easier with such a partner. Cheers.
Well at least they are dry .
god im getting sea sick just from watching.
that might help me sleep better
You never really think that the bigger ships still roll like this! We get to used to seeing ships either in relative calm or them being the huge, stabalised, ones!
I knew that
It's a no from me.
YOOOOOOOOO HOOOO...
The interior is honestly pretty nice.
Nope, I couldn't do it.
That is ok, you have to do what you like to do.
This is the kind of cruise I would like to have. Big huge hotel ships full of Karens and laqueeshas isn’t for me
The ocean and this storm has nothing on the waves I produce when farting in my bathtub.
Does the camera have a gyroscope to keep it level?
No, I kept it in my hand, in such an situation you automatically try to keep your body upright.
One tip over like that on 2:00-2:13 I’ll be like AHHH WERE ON THE TITANIC!!!!!
I got a little sea sick watching this
How have you been? Are you still at sea with your wife? How is your wife doing? It has been a long time. I am so sorry for that. I have missed your videos and chatting with you. ❤
Hi, yes it has been a while, I hope all is ok now with you, I think your computer got smashed. I still got your email address but I think it is no more working. We are fine but no more sailing, I still have some recordings but I am too lazy to edit and upload it.
That looks amazing, I am going to sea for the first time.. Can't wait.
Get your ship together you're swerving all over the place
The funniest thing would have been to see what happens in the kitchen, with the pans on the gimbal dancing full of cooking spaghetti.
Anyone that works and lives on the open ocean has my deepest respect. There's NO WAY I could cope with my environment rolling like that.
Imagine building a tower of Dominoes
That cabin is so nice and immaculate! She makes this look chill ❤ that! 👏✌️
Wow! That song isn’t playing. I love this. I think I’m gonna cry.
🤢🤢UP AND DOWN AND 🤢🤢🤢🤢UP AND DOWN AND U... GAG...🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮...😢😢 and gag...🤮🤮🤮🤮 😢up and down and up and gag...🤮🤮🤮😢 down...
If you drink a bottle of booze when the ship is rolling around like this, the rolling of the ship will be canceled out by the crooked walk from being drunk and you can walk normally. Lol.
Somehow feels cosy and safe in their little cabin when it’s so wild outside
She looks the type of woman who would be calm if that thing totally rolled over! Big Balls there!
I spent six years in the Navy. This is perfect sleeping conditions. There is something special about being rocked to sleep.
If you plan the rolls right, the sex is effortless.
NO WAY!
Why not, you deprive yourself of great adventure.
As someone who gets seasick, this amazes me. How do you ever adapt to this? Can anyone, seriously tell me that I would overcome seasickness?
Yes, you would, you get used to it, if this goes on for weeks, the body has to adapt to it.
Imagine being aboard a US Navy Knox Class Frigate (Destroyer Escort) during seas higher than this... I crossed the Equator in the Indian Ocean on one (19 July, 1979) and was initiated as a Trusty Shellback in the Ancient Order Of The Deep.
I would LOVE to experience that! On a really new, expensive, non-boeing, boat.
Now THOSE are sea legs!!
Get me in a hammock now before I go insane.
Hammocks would not do any good, you would swing too much, the cabins are too small for that. Big steel ships are not only rolling, they are moving up and down like an elevator, they are swinging left to right like a roller coaster, they are accelerating and breaking when diving into a wave. I was sleeping on one ship in the hospital room in a bed which was hanging on pendulums, belief it or not, when the ship was rolling I flew out of this bed and landed quite hard on the floor. My wife was sleeping in the other bed which was fixed and she was shaking with laughter. I am working on ships for over 30 years and I never saw a single hammock, if it would be only slightly convenient, you would find it somewhere on a ship. You can’t get a good rest in a hammock, you need to stretch your legs and spine, for which you have to sleep on a flat surface. You have to wedge yourself on the mattress that you will not slide or roll and then you can get a good sleep. Certainly there have been hammocks in wooden sailing boats a long time ago, those ship were smaller and did not swing that much, but nowadays you cannot find them on any ship.
I like how she walks uphill both ways when she's sorting out the couch / bed 😂😂
